How Kaellyn ate my contact
I was having some problems putting my left contact in so I was letting it soak on the counter while I got ready for the day. Because I was putting it in in just a few minutes I hadn't tightened the lid very tight. But there was a lid on it. I put on my lotion and the next thing I know Kaellyn has the case in her mouth!!! How she reached up is beyond me. I searched for a half hour on the ground for the liquid and the contact but can't find it. The only thing I can think of is if Kaellyn swallowed it. I'm hoping in a few days I'll step on a crunchy, dried up contact but until then I think Kaellyn ate my last good contact. Boo. Time to schedule an appointment with the eye doctor.

Renaissance Faire in Meadville
was terrible!! But at least I went. The faire was at a dog park so all of the booths were for dogs and selling stuff for dogs. There were only 2 tents with faire folk and those 2 tents held 14 people in garb. Thats it! No re-enactment, no mead, nothing. Just a few people in costume trying to stay cool. Here are the pictures.

Bikini Day!
The bikini debuted in France on the 5th of July in 1946. It was designed by French automobile engineer Louis Reard. He designed because he was trying to make the worlds smallest swimsuit and because he noticed how often women rolled their swimsuits up to get a better tan. It was created out of only 30 inches of fabric. RĂ©ard could not find a model who would dare to wear his design. He ended up hiring Micheline Bernardini a nude dancer from the Casino de Paris as his model. The bikini was a hit, especially among men, and the model received some 50,000 fan letters. Reird's business soared, and in advertisements he kept the bikini mystique alive by declaring that a two-piece suit wasn't a genuine bikini "unless it could be pulled through a wedding ring."
So in honor of that Kaellyn and I spent some time in the sun in our bikini's

The 4th of July
The 4th of July was pretty quiet for us. Briss had the day off so he slept in and then we had a big breakfast. In the afternoon we went to a 4th of July festival at the park but it wasn't very exciting. And so we left early. Then we came home and read some patriotic books to Kaellyn and then watched Gods and Generals. All in all it was a pretty good day.
