Bikini Day!

The bikini debuted in France on the 5th of July in 1946.  It was designed by French automobile engineer Louis Reard.  He designed because he was trying to make the worlds smallest swimsuit and because he noticed how often women rolled their swimsuits up to get a better tan.  It was created out of only 30 inches of fabric.  RĂ©ard could not find a model who would dare to wear his design. He ended up hiring Micheline Bernardini a nude dancer from the Casino de Paris as his model.  The bikini was a hit, especially among men, and the model received some 50,000 fan letters. Reird's business soared, and in advertisements he kept the bikini mystique alive by declaring that a two-piece suit wasn't a genuine bikini "unless it could be pulled through a wedding ring."

So in honor of that Kaellyn and I spent some time in the sun in our bikini's

Don't worry it wasn't open so she couldn't cut herself or drink soda pop

The 4th of July

The 4th of July was pretty quiet for us.  Briss had the day off so he slept in and then we had a big breakfast.  In the afternoon we went to a 4th of July festival at the park but it wasn't very exciting.  And so we left early.  Then we came home and read some patriotic books to Kaellyn and then watched Gods and Generals.  All in all it was a pretty good day.
